Nitty Gritty: Projects 1 and 2

OKAY...Since last night I have been daydreaming non-stop and coming up with an action plan on how to get out of my current slump. Hopefully blogging this will help me to hold myself accountable for actually doing something creative.

[On a side note, I've been inspired to realize that although work is necessary and not always something I am in love with, it can be equated to those science and math classes or other G.E. courses of life. So, although my day job will include learning to manage people and run a business competently, I can still make time for the art classes of life.]

Since printmaking and collages are my main loves, I'll start here.

PROJECT 1: WEDDING CARDS MONTAGE

Objective: pick out my favorite cards (above)...then make a collage (either framed or glued on a large wooden slab) of the most interesting and adorable wedding cards. Then, either paint or stamp (hand made stamp) my favorite saying on top of the collage... such as "I am because we are" or something simple along those lines.

I will keep you updated.

PROJECT 2: WOODCUT PRINT

Objective: Carve out an image that relates to our current life here in Boston and print it on beautiful hand-made (from the art store) paper, then frame.

And I will possibly carve an image like this:

Then I will print it on paper and put it in a frame, or two or three, like this (note the three framed pictures on the back wall):

Wish me the best! Here's to making time for what I love. As always, I will keep you posted.

I am excited to see the finished product. Your apartment has such character that you adding your own crafty touches will make it look stunning.

Wow! I am excited to see them once they are done! :) We need to have an art/crafting day together! I am so not as talented as you are, but I love to get together and work on projects with girl friends.
