target

Today I had a good laugh on my way out of Target on my lunch break.

Target is great because they have those the automatic and regular doors right next to eachother. I am sure you can see where this is going...fortunately this story isn't about me.

Well, you know, to be fair, the "automatic" sign isn't that big.

So I am walking out and right ahead of me this guy walks right up to the regular door and just stands there for about 30 seconds waiting for it to open, as the crowd of exiting people backs up behind him.

Fed up, looking around in protest, it finally occurs to him to employ his arms and try his luck at pushing the door, which low and behold, opened! This gave me a good laugh and I wish one of my friends could have been there to laugh with me in that moment, mmm, Bayba particularly.

Personally, I always put my hands out just ahead of me on the off chance that the door doesn't open. Just saying. That way it is one fluid motion, and you can avoid such embarassments, if you by chance go for the wrong door.

PS, on a side note, I heard once that you can measure a person's confidence by how fast they approach automatic doors. I think it is true, for the most part.
