This year will be my 26th Birthday! It's official- I'm a real woman now!
In honor of this (which will take force on Nov 20, 2009), I have decided to write 26 things I've learned in 26 years.
1. Its nice to let things go without an in depth exit anaysis
2. No matter how many people tell me how I change, I didn't really change
3. There is a kid inside that still shouts "AH YUMMA YUMMA" at the dinner table even after the threat of being sent away and scorned
4. I still love everything I ever loved once, just as much
5. It pays to be honest, even if it can be awkward or painful, so you should always be honest with yourself and others no matter what
6. Things work out in the long run when I follow my heart, so I always will
7. No matter what direction I take in life, it seems to always include too much work
8. "Men are like buses; if you miss one, just catch the next one" its true!
9. Forgiveness heals everything
10. If it looks like a rat, and smells like a rat, its a rat
11. Feminine intuition is like a dang crystal ball (at least mine is)
12. If you don't live the gospel faithfully, you shouldn't expect things to work out good in the end, because they won't
13. On the other hand, things will be wonderful if you do live the gospel
14. Speaking of 14, I am grateful that being 14 only happened once
15. True friends never let you down and are the best (you know who you are!)
16. Mediocre friends do let you down, but thats OK, because they are mediocre
17. Dating never becomes less awkward
18. A happy marriage and the hope of real eternal love never become less desirable to me
19. Even though I always tell myself "this semester, I'm really going to study hard" it never really pans out that way...
20. I love reading good books- who knew? (a fairly recent development)
21. Married women always tell me to live it up before budgets, kids, and reality strap me down...so I do...with great pleasure
22. I may look like a pushover to some, but those people are usually quite forcefully corrected
23. Graduating from a University is something I wish I could do again
24. Going to Institute and studying the gospel in Bro Jones classes are some of my all-time favorite memories
25. Stragely, I feel younger at 26 than I did at 19. I love this!
26. The reason why is because I am not really afraid anymore to reveal the real me, make decisions, and boss people around a little :) or just be great

yeah- 26 isnt too bad. when are you coming to visit? I will be in SD Dec. 21-30th
26 is much better than 25 (in my opinion). I love #22 and #24:-) You rock Emily Jones. Be expecting a birthday call from me!
Ah Jones, I haven't checked out your blog in so long. Partly because I rely on my not so reliable "blog updater notifier". Anyway! I loved reading your list, because it's so... you! And brought me back to some good times. I hope you have something delightful planned for your bday weekend!
