(for some reason, the title automatically translated to arabic or something, but I kinda like it, so I'll leave it. In english, it says crunch time)
Well, it's finally arrived: that point where my capacity for responsibility meets the opportunities presented. This week, in addition to my stellar part-time weekend night-shift job and full-time night classes, I finally was able to pin down a daytime desk job!!! I will be the front-desk receptionist for a company called Brigham and Associates, which is one of the few companies left that is actually benefiting from the economic downturn.
But wait..."How did Emily obtain this amazing position?" One might ask:
As it would turn out, I first interviewed for it in person (in response to an add on craig's list) last December, but the company decided that another candidate was better qualified. Silly Company, what were they thinking!!? I'm Emily Jones, duh.
Needless to say, I got a call this Thursday telling me the position was open again. Apparently, the other girl wasn't all she was cracked up to be, and they were forced to give her the can. I think they'll be pretty happy with their choice, and perhaps even receive extra blessings for repenting :) hehehe (just kidding.)
But wait..."How will Emily manage this chock-full amazing lifestyle?" One might ask:
For anyone concerned, it is temporary, but...to do the math, here it goes:
30 min commute daily morning + 40 hour work week + 30 min commute daily evening + 30 min conversation w/boyfriend daily + 12 hour lecture week + 16 hour weekend job + 8? hours of homework
56 hr/wk WORK
5 hr/wk DRIVING
20 hr/wk SCHOOL
2.5 hr/wk RELATIONSHIP (low maintenance man...just how I like it)
=
83.5 hr/wk THAT I CANT PAY ATTENTION TO YOU! (sorry, please excuse my absence)
By the way, I apologize for the fact that nobody can comment on my blog. I have no clue why it is on that setting, but I am in the process of figuring out how to fix it. In the mean time, I love comments and feedback so please please please write something on facebook if you have something to contribute!!! I love you all!
